About Us
GPJC stands for Gloucestershire Performance Japanese Club
Back in April of last year (2008) the Forest of Dean Japanese Performance and Gloucestershire Performance Japanese Club were merged together to form one. Basically two groups of people had very similar reasons for starting a performance car club and decided to join forces rather than compete with one another for members. Brett and Tom approached me Rich, and GPJC was born.
We all want the same thing from this site and the club. With a couple of things driving us: A love for high performance Japanese cars, and having a laugh with our mates.
All of us were at the time members of other car clubs and were finding ourselves increasingly isolated from each other when we went to shows; we also found that all of the meets which took place for the other clubs were miles and miles away which were always expensive which ever way we looked at it.
Not for trying, none of us could find a performance Japanese car club for Gloucestershire and so we decided that starting our own was the only way to go.
At this point in time, we have been running for almost 1 year as GPJC, we have 40 members of the site and a few more who just do not have internet access.
We cater for anyone with a Japanese motor living in and around Gloucestershire. We are trying to get at least one club meeting per month during the summer months, and will vary the location around Gloucestershire. With any luck we are getting it right and more people will come along and join group.
We have already had a club stand at JTS Silverstone last year year, and will be attending again this year with more cars! We also plan to attend Japfest and have a club stand there aswell.
So, if you have got a Jap car, like having a laugh over a barbeque and are fed up with travelling to club meets, or if your new to the Jap car seen and want some advise, I have counted 4 Mechanics and one workshop owner amongst our members and they are normally happy to help. What are you waiting for???
